About Chris Champion
I fell in love with theatre while at school. I stumbled into an audition for Tom Stoppard's “Albert's Bridge” and left with the role of Dave – an old codger whose only line was: “Hear! Hear, Mr. Chairman!” Not a big role – but I did get to repeat the line fourteen times!
After completeing the serious side of my education with a Master of Arts in English from St. Andrews University, Scotland, I set off, in 1979, to pursue my dreams. At various times in the next ten years I worked as a community theatre artist; a circus clown; a stand up comedian in London and a director at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
I've taught and performed in over 20 countries in 4 continents and played my award winning clown street theatre show throughout Europe.
At the moment I live in Holland where, in between teaching and performing, I run the drama department at an International School.
My work and teaching style have been influenced by the many inspirational teachers whom I have had the good fortune learn from: Keith Johnstone, Philippe Gaulier, Ken Campbell, Dorothy Heathcote, Franki Anderson, Nola Ray, Barry Grantham
